The Itinerary

Day 1 : ARRIVE LAHORE
4th October 2017

Every one arrives in Lahore and meets at the hotel for an overall introduction of the tour and to meet other members of the Pakistan photo holiday.

Depending on the arrival time either your Australian travel photographer guide, Andrea Francolini, or Adam Khan, director of Travel Life Pakistan, will pick you up at the airport.


DAY 2 : LAHORE
5th October 2017

Morning: we visit a local Pakistan outdoor traditional wrestling gym, Delhi Gate, Waszir Khan Mosque and the Royal Bath.

Dehli Gate is one of the six remaining gates which use to grant access to the city of Lahore.

Waszir Khan Mosque, a 17th century mosque.

Royal Bath are the only surviving public bath from the Mughal Era.

Late afternoon/sunset at Lahore Fort.

Lahore Fort’s current form was completed in 1566 when Lahore was the capital of the country.

Dinner at Food Street near Lahore Fort.


DAY 3 : LAHORE
6th October 2017

Sunrise along Ravi River.

Ravi River is a great location for sunrise and landscapes.

Morning visit to Badshahi Mosque.

Badshahi Mosque is a 16th century mosque build in red bricks.

Lunch break and visit traditional truck yard.

Truck yard / art is a huge outdoor area full of local mechanics, artists and anyone working in the trucking industry which is the main means of transportation for goods around the country. This is a great opportunity for portraits and daily life.

Afternoon visit to Begum Shahi Mosque (near Lahore Fort).

Begum Shahi Mosque has a unique architectural style. A mix of Indo-Islamic architecture, Mughal architecture.

Sunset in the modern part of the city on a high rise.


DAY 4 : LAHORE/ISLAMABAD
4th October 2017

Early start and 4 hour drive to Islamabad.

Afternoon walk around Raja Bazaar.

Raja Bazaar is a huge market in the heart of Rawalpindi. We will be able to do some street photography, portraits and get a feel for every day life.

Dinner (not included in the price) at Tuscany (Italian restaurant) in Islamabad.


DAY 5 : ISLAMABAD / SKARDU
8th October 2017

An early start to fly to Skardu (elevation 2228m – north east of Pakistan). This flight will take us over the breath taking Karakoram mountain range.

Hotel, lunch and plan the afternoon or have time to download or edit your images. Skardu will be our base while in northern Paksitan.

Afternoon/sunset/night Skardu desert. If the weather allows us to stay out at night we will also shoot stars.


DAY 6 : ISLAMABAD / SKARDU
9th October 2017

Sunrise near Indus River.

Leave for Khaplu (elevation 2601m) and stop along the way for landscape photography. This is a 110km drive.

Visit old fort and mosque.

Sunset along the river and return to Skardu.


DAY 7 : SKARDU
10th October 2017

Sunrise at Katpana Desert.

Katpana Desert, also known as the cold desert (that is a hint), has nice sand dune formations.

Morning visit Kharpocho Fort.

Kharpocho fort also know as ‘the king of forts’ in Skardu.

Afternoon upper Kachura Lake and Shangrila.

Kachura Lake and Shangrila (elevation 2500m). Ideal for landscape photography.

Sunset at Shangrila.


DAY 8 : SKARDU
11th October 2017

Sunrise at Satpara Lake.

Morning Buddha carved rock.

Leave for Shigar, cold desert, Shigar Fort and mosques

Sunset at Shigar along the Indus River.

Shigar (elevation 2230m).


 DAY 9 : SKARDU / ISLAMABAD
12th October 2017

Morning flight back to Islamabad.

Back to the Hotel for photo editing and free time.

Afternoon visit Faisal Masjid Mosque in Islamabad.

Sunset and dinner in Monal.


DAY 10 : LAHORE
13th October 2017

Early 4 hour drive to Lahore.

On the way we can stop enroute to visit Rohtas Fort or Kallar Kahar or Khewra Salt Mines depending on route we are taking.

Rohtas Fort is a UNESCO heritage fort.

Kallar Kahar is known for its salt water lake with beautiful species of peacocks.

Khewra Salt Mines (underground). This is a none working mine. Only for visits.

Sunset at Chennab River for landscape photography.

Dinner Kinara Restaurant.


DAY 11 : LAHORE
14th October 2017

Morning visit colonial architecture in Lahore on Mall Road.

After lunch we leave for Minar Sheikhupura.

Minar Sheikhupura is a fort surrounded by water.

Late evening – departures for Australia.
