Sailing photographer Australia.
Andrea Francolini, Italian born photographer, now living in Sydney since late 2000, has been photographing around the world for almost two decades. Specialised in the nautical industry, with over 180 cover shots to his name, he has covered the biggest regattas in the world. Let it be a dinghy or multimillion dollar super yacht, if it floats there is a good chance that Andrea has photographed it. Even though he is known in the sailing industry for his high impact images, Andrea does not know how to sail and has no intention to learn. ‘I love sailing for different reasons than the sailors do’.
His clients range from private boat owners to major corporate sponsors such as Audi Australia, Hamilton Island, Skandia, BP, McConaghy boats just to name a few. While certain boats have been in Australia he has been the official photographer for supermaxi Wild Oats XI (Bob Oatley), Comanche (Jim Clarke), Necker Belle (Richard Branson), B&Q Castorama (Dame Ellen MacArthur), Maserati VOR 70 (Giovanni Soldini) and many more.
His imagery, which has a specific action packed style, has been heavily published in the southern hemisphere and around the world in the past decade. A mix of on water, in the water and aerial photography are the way Andrea shows the variety of his way of seeing sailing.
